Exciting news! I am officially on the job market and looking for Spring 2025 positions.

Hi! My name is Alicia (uh-leesh-uh), and I am a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate and mixed-methods researcher at the University of Michigan School of Information, where I am advised by Dr. Tiffany Veinot. My research is at the intersection of health equity and digital mental health. I am interested in how technologies can assist in reducing mental health disparities for marginalized populations. I take a user-centered approach to analyzing digital health technologies and have experience assessing accessible UX practices. My working dissertation focuses on technologies' role in accessing mental health support for people of low socioeconomic status. Aside from my academic work, I have worked as an AI UX Student Researcher at Google DeepMind, where I led qualitative and participatory design studies to understand neurodivergent users’ needs while interacting with AI systems.

Formerly, I was a Project Manager at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Healthcare Organization & Implementation Research and a Youth Development and Community Health Facilitator through Peace Corps Peru. I enjoy knitting, jewelry making, and swimming. Y yo hablo español.
